Eposide 25 mark the end of Macross Frontier series run. Sure, the show wasn’t as flashy as Macross Zero, the story was so so, and there are lots of better show out there. But, the reason that I love the show so much is because it felt nostalgic. Somehow I felt that the show was made for us, fans of macross series, those who regards Lynn Minmay as a real life pop star, those that bob his/her head to the tune of Firebomber’s Holy Lonely Night and Try Again. There are abundant references to previous macross series. From the songs performed by both of the songtress (“Ai Oboete Imasu Ka?”, “Watashi no Kare Wa Pilot”, etc) from SDF Macross, Ozma Lee’s battle formations that are named based on Macross 7’s Firebomber song titles (“Geki! Ikuzo! Totsugeki Love Heart!”), the appearance of the unmanned Ghost V9 and AIF-7S drones, the Valkyrie slave control mode that use hand gesture similar to Macros Plus’s Isamu, to “Macross Attack” maneuver performed by the Macross Quarter battleship.
Original “Macross Attack”
Macross Quarter “Macross Attack”
One small grieve though… Somehow it felt like a harem anime toward the end

I couldn’t help myself ^^;
YF-19
YF-21
They both look very cool. Sadly, unlike the VF-1A/S/J model, the hip can’t swivel, and addtional revoltech joints come in the form of wings -mounted on the hip of both model- that while looks very cool, didn’t help much in the poseability department.
So I went shopping yesterday for a new pair of shoes, and I can’t help myself not to checkout my regular toy ahem.. Hobby Shop. And look what I found!
The Zentradi Regult Battlepod of Super Dimension Fortress Macross. I knew Revoltech will be releasing the Regult, and I have seen quite lot of picture of this model. But the chance of finding it in Jakarta was quite minuscule.
The Regult makes a great companion for my VF-1A and VF-1J Revoltech ^___^
Real men interrupt any music with his theme song. If you’re an avid fan of Super Robot Wars, then you should be familiar with Elzam Von Brainstein and “Trombe!” his theme song. “Trombe!” is unique for the song will always override any song that currently is played, every time Elzam appears on screen.
So far, in my opinion, these two are the best version of “Trombe”
The first one is from the animation Super Robot Wars Original Generation : The Divine Wars
The second one is from the Aquastyle CD
I’ve always been a fan for anime featuring mechas. My most favorite tittles would be almost any MS Gundam tittle from Universal Century Timeline. They have the most close to real storyline, cool and realistic mecha design, and one of the most comprehensive made-up physic background to support their stories.
But for a sheer stupid fun, My choice is the super robot genre. And one of the is Getter Robo series. Recently, I saw the total remake of the original series, and immediately hooked up by it’s opening theme song “Dragon”, performed by none other than JAM Project.
And I saw this on youtube.
They actually perform that an acoustic version of “Dragon”. These are some of the most talented people on earth
